Planning your move

How many movers do I need?

Crew size affects the duration, safety and total cost of a move. One helper may be enough for a few lighter items with good lift access, while heavy furniture, appliances and stairs usually require two or more people.

01

When one helper may be enough

One helper can suit a small job when the customer can also carry, there are no unusually heavy items and the route to the van is short. Typical examples include boxes, dismantled furniture or smaller equipment in a building with a suitable lift.

02

When to choose two movers

Two movers are safer for sofas, wardrobes, washing machines, large tables and items that one person cannot control securely. They are also useful without a lift, with a long carrying distance or when the customer cannot assist.

03

Why room count is not enough

The list of large pieces, appliance weights, box count, floors, lift dimensions, door width, stairs and parking access matter more than the number of rooms. A small flat with a tight staircase can be harder than a larger home with a goods lift.

04

What to send for an accurate quote

Send photos of everything to be moved and of the access route. Add dimensions and approximate weight for heavy pieces, say whether dismantling is needed and explain who can help. This lets us propose a suitable van and crew without unnecessary capacity.

05

Why the smallest crew is not always cheapest

A smaller team may take longer and can increase the risk of damage when handling heavy items. A larger crew costs more per hour but may shorten the job considerably. Compare the estimated total job cost rather than only the rate per worker.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book only one mover?

Yes, when the load and access allow the work to be completed safely. We confirm the crew after reviewing the job details.

Do I have to send photos?

No, but photos of the items, stairs and lift make the estimate much more reliable.

How many movers are needed without a lift?

It depends on floors, weight and item shape. Heavy furniture or appliances will usually require at least two workers.
